Free Fireworks off the Boardwalk in Long Beach
This is one of the most popular weekends here at the beach, so secure your reservations as far in advance as possible! The festival in Ocean Park is a favorite for locals and visitors of all ages and the fireworks show off the boardwalk in Long Beach is one of the best in the Pacific Northwest. We like to watch the fireworks from our own Seaview beach access approach where the show is spectacular and we can easily walk home and avoid the traffic.
JULY: Third Weekend Long Beach
Annual Sand-Sations (Sand Sculpture Competition)
This competition is for novice and pro alike. The experts do amazingly intricate and involved sculptures that can take your breath away. Actually, some of the novice efforts are pretty amazing as well! Children have a competition of their own as well as having salt water pools to splash in while their elders are hard at work (or is that for their elders while the kids are hard at work?). Did we mention there is prize money for the winners in each category? How about the Boardwalk Dance....or the Volleyball Tourney....The Fireworks? Too much fun!

Kite flying experts from all over the world are drawn to our local beach to work their magic with the strings of their masterpieces during this, the largest kite festival in the Americas. This week-long festival is one of our best attended summer events, so secure your reservations early. Make sure you have your kite ready for Sunday afternoon when we will put as many kites in the air as possible at one time. Will we secure the World Record again this year?

This is by far the most popular weekend here on the Peninsula as classic cars of every kind gather for for a full schedule of activities. The event itself is in Ocean Park, but the cars are EVERYWHERE! Sit in our front yard for the Peninsula-Long Parade on Saturday afternoon/evening. Most reservations are made a year in advance, so call early!
