This annual event brings runners and walkers, both novice and serious, to enjoy the miles of hard pack sand that make up our beautiful beach.  Come to participate, or to be a spectator.

Annual Northwest Garlic Festival
You do not know garlic if you haven't been to this festival!  Here you'll find an abundance of foods you did not know could be made from garlic, garlic paper, garlic entertainment, even people dressed as garlic cloves.  Drop in, buy a clove hat, and join the fun!

Northwest Regional Stunt Kite Competition
This is an event not to be missed!  The skies are blue, the clouds are puffy white, and the pros are flying kites.  So spread your blanket on the sand, kick back, and enjoy the show.

JULY: Independence Day Weekend      Peninsula-Wide
Annual Old Fashioned Fourth of July in Ocean Park
Free Fireworks off the Boardwalk in Long Beach
This is one of the most popular weekends here at the beach, so secure your reservations as far in advance as possible!  The festival in Ocean Park is a favorite for locals and visitors of all ages and the fireworks show off the boardwalk in Long Beach is one of the best in the Pacific Northwest. We like to watch the fireworks from our own Seaview beach access approach where the show is spectacular and we can easily walk home and avoid the traffic.
 
 
JULY: Third Weekend      Long Beach
Annual Sand-Sations (Sand Sculpture Competition)
This competition is for novice and pro alike.  The experts do amazingly intricate and involved sculptures that can take your breath away.  Actually, some of the novice efforts are pretty amazing as well!  Children have a competition of their own as well as having salt water pools to splash in while their elders are hard at work (or is that for their elders while the kids are hard at work?).  Did we mention there is prize money for the winners in each category?  How about the Boardwalk Dance....or the Volleyball Tourney....The Fireworks?  Too much fun!
 
 
JULY: Even numbered years only, 4th Weekend         Naselle
Biennial Finnish-American Folk Festival
Naselle is a short 20 minute drive away, and the festival is worth the trip!top

Annual Washington State International Kite Festival
Kite flying experts from all over the world are drawn to our local beach to work their magic with the strings of their masterpieces during this, the largest kite festival in the Americas.  This week-long festival is one of our best attended summer events, so secure your reservations early.  Make sure you have your kite ready for Sunday afternoon when we will put as many kites in the air as possible at one time.  Will we secure the World Record again this year?top

This annual event is put on by the Peninsula Arts Association.

The traditional Final Weekend Of Summer brings many families out to the Festival in the Park in the town of Ocean Park.  Vendors, entertainers, the Friends Of The Library book sale;  what better way to spend the official last weekend of summer than at the beach!? Make your reservations early as space fillsup quickly.
 
 
SEPTEMBER: Weekend AFTER Labor Day     Peninsula-Wide
Annual Rod Run to the End Of The World
This is by far the most popular weekend here on the Peninsula as classic cars of every kind gather for for a full schedule of activities.  The event itself is in Ocean Park, but the cars are EVERYWHERE!  Sit in our front yard for the Peninsula-Long Parade on Saturday afternoon/evening.   Most reservations are made a year in advance, so call early!
 
 
SEPTEMBER: Mid Month     Peninsula-Wide
Annual Beach Clean-Up with BBQ in Ocean Park
Please participate in the annual beach clean up.  Do your part to keep our beach clean, safe and enjoyable for all.  It's fun and each year volunteers discover interesting finds as they work to clean up the trash.

Cranberrian Fair
We think this event is one of our best kept secrets.  Take the Bog Bus for a tour of the local cranberry bogs & museum learn about the history of the area, cranberries, and the local harvest, enjoy our incredible local talent and sample a multiplicity of cranberry delicacies.  There is something for everyone at the Cranberrian Fair!
 
OCTOBER: Mid Month     Megler
Great Columbia Bridge Run/Walk
This is your one chance each year to walk from Washington to Oregon across the more than 4 mile long Astoria-Megler bridge.  What a spectacular experience!
